Hi everybody. I am from Slovakia (small country in the middle of Europe) so please excuse my english. I would like to ask you about any ideas or suggestions how to get into Luthiery bussines. I m 30years old and I have been doing guitar repair job for about 3 years. I m self taugt, learning from books, videos on the internet, learning on scrap guitars and so on. I live in a small town (about 50 000 population) and most of local musicians know me as a "guy who can fix your guitar", most of the time I am doing refret job and broken pegheads, necks, bridges etc, so sometimes I make some money which I mostly spend on new tools in my small shop. Actually I wish to move my skills further and slowly start to build guitars. I was thinking about some school of luthiery but soon I realized that I just can t afford it because in my country is just impossible to make such money with honest work ![]() Would be amazing to learn from proffesional so I am trying luck on this forum. I was thinking maybe I could find somebody here, who needs some help in his shop so I could reach more experiences. Really I would be grateful for anything, I could start with sweeping floor in your shop, anything, just to get in touch with this beautiful craft. I just cannot give up my dream ![]() Thank you for any ideas Have a nice day ![]() |

There are many fantastic (and free) videos on YouTube. One of my favorites is Crimson Guitars out of UK. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You can learn a lot by doing. If you're able to fix guitars or do any sort of reconstruction, building guitars should be easy. In fact repair is harder to do. Get a LMI serviced kit and start doing... |
